Ups and Downs at Sachsenring With his third victory of the season, Pierre Kaffer cut down the gap to the championship leading Japanese Toshihiro Kaneishi to only one point. Now he is the driver with most wins this year. After struggling in the first corner and dropping far back Pierre had to retire later on after a coming up from 24th place to 12th in the first heat. In the second heat the luck was on his side. While many of his competitors fall off in another big crash in the first corner Pierre could celebrate another win. 17.06.2001
